Boys’ first day of school….

Our boys LOVE to camp. So it was no surprise that they asked for a “camping” birthday party. We had lots of games planned, and the kids were divided into two teams, from the moment the got to the party…

Colin’s team: the TALL TREES

Simon’s team: the BROWN BEARS

When you go camping, you always need to have a bucket of water close to your campfire. Here is the first relay to see who can fill their bucket first!

You also need to pack certain things when you go camping. Each team had a backpack and it was a relay to see which team could get packed first!

Sometimes there are bears. The kids all took turns feeding the bear that showed up to our camp ground!

Next, we played “musical camp chairs” around our “camp fire”.

You can’t go camping with out having S’MORES!!!

Next we played “pin the flames on the camp-fire”

Where has the time gone?! Yup, the boys turned 6 on the 5th of July. We had just returned from a big holiday (4th of July) trip, and let the boys choose how they wanted to spend their afternoon. They chose, home-made ice cream (in their NEW ice cream ball), floatin’ in their pool, slip and sliding, tacos for dinner and a Scooby Doo movie to relax with. They had a big “camping party” on the 1st, and we’ll post pictures of that later.

Austin….with his “home-made” snorkel and “nose plug”. He is a quirky little kid!
Speaking of quirky…..here is Colin in his brand new STORM-TROOPER costume. He looks awesome!!!

In light of the boys attending kindergarten this fall…..we have amped up our reading. We used to read a couple of books each day…..now we are reading as many as we can. I think the other day, we must have read 20 books in one sitting. I love it, and I love that the boys love it and will sit for HOURS and listen! They love to sound out words here and there.

Where have all the days gone? May was like a flash in the pan!!! Now we’re on to June and all the “end of year” things that go with it! Here is a cute pic of the boys that I took this morning. They were so excited, we have one small tomato growing on our plant. Also their cantaloupe, watermelon, broccoli, cucumbers and pumpkin are all sprouted and growing each day! They are good little farmers!!

I love their faces in this picture. So precious.

Some warm weather arrived and the boys are already in the water! Daddy let them put a big pile of dirt at the end of their slide, so they were having the ultimate BLAST playing in the mud as well! They’re so cute when they are wet and muddy!!
